Artist statement

At the intersection of art, education, and life, my work becomes a vibrant testimony, narrating stories behind each piece and transcending the aesthetic to serve as a catalyst for reflection and transformation. Over time, my art has evolved, facing challenges; however, each obstacle has contributed to my growth as an artist, leading me to new horizons of expression and teaching.

The fundamental purpose of my art is to become an educational bridge where each piece not only unfolds artistic principles but also echoes narratives that deserve to be heard. My message, infused in every artwork, seeks the intrinsic connection between art and education, emphasizing that we all carry a voice and a story.

My relationship with the viewer is based on the hope that they find examples, empowerment, and learning in my pieces, connecting their own stories with the narratives portrayed on the canvas.

The personal connection with the theme is where my life story intertwines with the idea and message. My work gestates at the vibrant confluence of American Pop Art and the expression of urban art, blending lines and colors in a bold visual dialogue pertinent to my Afrocaribbean heritage.  My Afrocaribbean identity is forged in the crucible of these influences, where color emerges as the protagonist, woven into each stroke with the intention to educate, make visible, and give a voice to stories forgotten in books and silenced in cultural spaces.
