Lewa, Spring into the Arts Festival, Kuja Studio, Wendell, North Carolina.

"Lewa" is a stunning mural I created for the "Spring into the Arts" festival at Kuja Studio in Wendell, North Carolina. This vibrant and lively work celebrates the cultural and natural richness of the region, blending local elements with global artistic influences.

The mural stands out for its color and dynamism, capturing the essence of spring and the renewal it brings. At the center of the piece, a majestic Afro woman figure takes prominence. Her hair is adorned with flowers, symbolizing the beauty and strength of Afro-Puerto Rican culture. This central bust exalts the identity and cultural richness, evoking deep respect and admiration for Afro-Puerto Rican roots.

The title "Lewa," which means "beautiful" in Swahili, reflects my intention to highlight the intrinsic beauty of cultural diversity and harmony with nature. The flowing lines and organic shapes in the mural symbolize the continuous flow of life and art, reminding us of the importance of appreciating and caring for our environment.
