Vestida y Alborotá, Pequeña París Art Fest,Arroyo,Puerto Rico.

In the mural titled "Vestida y Alboratá," I explore a legend from the charming town of Arroyo, Puerto Rico. Inspired by the figure of an Afro-descendant woman and the popular song "A la verdeguee, a la verdeguee, Mi mama no quiere que yo vaya a la verdeguee...", this mural celebrates the history related to the Old Molino La Berdedera. This windmill, built in the 1850s, was crucial for grinding sugarcane at the now-defunct Hacienda La Milagrosa.

The mural pays tribute to the rich cultural tradition of Arroyo, capturing the town's joyful and festive spirit. The vibrant colors and dynamic patterns in my work reflect the energy and enthusiasm that characterize our local celebrations and legends.

"Vestida y Alboratá" is my contribution to the Pequeña París Art Fest, a festival that promotes and celebrates the history and culture of Arroyo, a place I deeply value.
